Technicolor Digital Cinema Supports World’s First Live 3-D Broadcast of an NFL Game

The December 4 broadcast to cinemas of the NFL game between the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders will mark a first-of-its-kind live 3-D broadcast. Technicolor continues to reinforce its leadership role in digital cinema, providing satellite services and its Technicolor Live™ broadcast solution for the event. The Technicolor Live™ solution enables live-streaming of content, both 3-D and 2-D, to cinemas. The broadcast is being produced by 3Ality Digital, and will be shown in RealD 3-D. The event will be presented to invited guests at three selected theatres in Los Angeles, Boston and New York.
