Technicolor installs systems with cineplex and marcus

Earlier this year, Technicolor Digital Cinema announced that it would install digital projection systems at Cineplex Entertainment’s Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, marking the first TDC installation in Canada.

TDC announced additional installations with Milwaukee-based Marcus Theatres at the Cinema at the Renaissance 13-plex in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Marcus Theatres is the seventh-largest motion picture exhibitor in the United Sates and operates nearly 600 screens throughout the Midwest.

These latest installations will enable a new range of content offerings such as 3-D features and live events on the big screen, and will also be fully integrated with the current digital advertising systems, allowing for seamless pre-show presentation in 2k resolution.

Both installations are also part of Thomson’s previously announced North American digital cinema beta test. Technicolor Digital Cinema has installed digital cinema systems with several prominent exhibitors in North America and Europe, including Cinemaworld, Clearview Cinemas, iPic Entertainment, Mann Theatres, National Amusements, Wehrenberg Theatres, Zyacorp’s Cinemagic Stadium Theatres, and Kinepolis Group in Belgium.
